In 1989 Austria release the Philharmonic as a nationally recognized coin. Since that date it has been one of the Austrian Mint’s most popular items sold across the globe.
It has become the official gold bullion coin of the country. The coin displays the famed Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and it is one of the most sought after coins in Europe and the United States.
The coins were minted in 99.99% pure gold bullion the 1/10th Ounce gold Austrian Philharmonic makes a great addition to your physical metals portfolio and also is eligible for acquisition in a self-directed IRA or retirement portfolio.
The 1/10th ounce Austrian Philharmonic has a face value of Ten Euros and it was designed by Thomas Pesendorfer. The front of this beautiful coin has the Musikverein Pipe Organ and the back of the coin shows the stunning Vienna Philharmonic instruments.
The Austrian Philharmonic was originally founded and created in 1842 and it is one the longest running and most famous orchestras in the world today.
Initially when they were launched the Austrian Gold Philharmonic coins actually were only available as a 1 oz and ¼ oz size, which are more common than smaller, fractional units. The 1/10th ounce Austrian Gold Philharmonic coins were not added to the lineup until 1991. Additionally, at that time, the Austrian Mint also released a ½ oz version of the very same coin. The designs across all of the different weights remains the same; they simply differ in size and face value due to their total gold content.
